AD Ports Group and SPG Yantai Forge Green Automotive Corridors Across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa

AD Ports Group has entered a preliminary strategic accord with SPG Yantai Port, a prominent state-owned enterprise overseeing major maritime gateways in Shandong Province, East China. The partnership envisages the creation of green automotive business parks, a transformative initiative designed to catalyze vehicle trade between Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa, whilst embedding sustainable energy solutions at its very core.

This initiative seeks to harness China’s preeminent stature as the world’s largest automotive market, endowed with prodigious export capacity, in tandem with Abu Dhabi’s emergent role as a dynamic trade and logistics fulcrum. Central to this endeavor is the conceptualization of avant-garde automotive hubs seamlessly integrated into port complexes, wherein artificial intelligence–driven technologies will augment operational efficacy and deliver formidable competitive advantages across the automotive logistics landscape. Further, the project contemplates an extensive commitment to renewable energy utilization, aligning SPG Yantai Port’s advanced infrastructure and logistics competencies with AD Ports Group’s strategic geography and pivotal role in supporting the region’s burgeoning energy sector.

The blueprint encompasses the establishment of an integrated bilateral network of terminals and auto hubs, interlinking the Asia-Pacific Green Automotive Circular Economy Industrial Park in Yantai with AD Ports Group’s automotive facilities in the UAE and select regional countries. This seamless chain aspires to enhance efficiency and resilience in vehicle supply, strengthening cross-continental connectivity.

Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of the Maritime and Shipping Cluster at AD Ports Group, affirmed, the creation of integrated green automotive industrial parks will elevate Abu Dhabi’s prominence as a pre-eminent automotive hub, advance economic diversification, and reinforce circular economy principles, thereby delivering enduring value to stakeholders across Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The timing is fortuitous, as the global ascendancy of Chinese automobile marques has invigorated opportunities for second-hand car exports, now entering a pivotal phase of expansion. Within this evolving landscape, the UAE has assumed unparalleled strategic importance as the foremost overseas market for China’s burgeoning second-hand vehicle trade. The synergy derived from the complementary advantages of SPG Yantai Port and AD Ports Group, spanning port operations, logistics networks, and market channels, augurs’ immense strategic value, injecting fresh momentum into Sino Emirati economic cooperation while fortifying broader regional trade linkages.
